La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park

La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park is composed by eleven municipalities.

La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park has a rich mountain landscape with a climate that helps to provide a variety of vegetation, with holm oaks, common oaks and beech trees. La Garrotxa is exceptional.

At La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park there are 28 walking routes that pass through the Park’s most interesting places. The majority of the paths are well signposted, except some of the longest routes which may perhaps need the aid of the guide map to navigate these parts of the Natural Park. The Natural Park has an extensive range of visitor information available.

The Natural Park’s routes often join with the Itinerànnia network of trails so it is therefore possible to gain access other parts of La Garrotxa, Ripollès or Alt Empordà through Itinerànnia on foot.

Visitors should be aware that around ninety-eight per cent of the Natural Park territory is private property and guests should be mindful of the National Park visitor rules.
